Features
The IDEAL 61-948 SureTrace PLUS Open/Closed Circuit Tracer is a CAT III 600 V rated digital circuit tracer that provides an easy-to-use trouble shooting tool for finding: breakers and fuses; conductors in walls, ceilings, and floors; dead shorts; opens on conductors; splice errors (shared neutrals). It can be used on energized and de-energized systems as well as 3-Phase systems carrying up to 600 V AC (50 & 60 HZ) /DC. Dual high visibility displays on the receiver are visible in all conditions and positions and feature a patented 180° main rotating display and patented TightSight® secondary display that make high/low tracing and breaker identification in tight spaces easier and eliminates the need to place you head near panels/conductors to see the main display. A non-contact sensor in the tip of the receiver detects and indicates the presence of AC voltage between 40V to 600V via a red flashing light and audible beep that change in frequency as its proximity to the voltage source changes. A built-in work light is provided for work in poor lighting conditions. The Transmitter features a patent pending built-in continuity test eliminating the need for a second continuity tester when searching for wiring faults (shorts) and it indicates 8 different voltage levels between 24 - 600 V AC & 12 to 600 V DC as well as DC polarity. It features a magnetic/hook strap clip for hands free use (strap sold separately) and has an integrated kick stand for set up on flat surfaces. The Receiver and Transmitter have an industrial grade over molding that enhances grip and drop protection. The kit includes an AC two bladed receptacle plug with banana plugs, a pair of 3-foot-long leads, two Alligator Clips, one ground Adapter and two blade adapters that attach to the lead set. The kit comes with ten 1.5V AA Batteries and an easy open, fully accessible hard case with a handle that allows for Tracer Receiver, Transmitter, battery, and extra accessory storage.Receiver features dual high visibility displays visible in all conditions/positions via a patented 180° main display and patented TightSight® secondary display making high/low tracing and breaker identification in tight spaces easier.
Transmitter features a patent pending built in continuity test eliminating the need for a second tester when searching for wiring faults.
Receiver also features an NCV that indicates the presence of 24 to 600V AC, a work light for use in poor lighting conditions and a Mute function for working in noise sensitive areas
Transmitter indicates 8 different voltage levels between 24 - 600 V AC & 12 to 600 V DC as well as DC polarity and features a magnetic/hook strap clip for hands free use (strap sold separately) as well as an integrated kick stand for set up on flat surfaces.
Over molded Industrial design enhances gripping and allows the Receiver and Transmitter to withstand a 6.6-foot (2 m) drop.
Includes, a two bladed AC receptacle plug with banana plugs, a pair of 3 foot long leads, 2 Alligator Clips, One ground Adapter and 2 blade adapters, 10 AA Batteries and an easy open, fully accessible hard case with a handle that allows for Tracer Receiver, Transmitter, battery, and extra accessory storage.

More than 100 years ago, Ideal Tools got their start making tools with the vision of making tools that were more valuable than their sale price. Ideal has continued to make tools with this mindset and as a result, their tools were used in some big projects, namely the first expeditions to the South Pole and even the moon. Even with great achievements like these under their belts, Ideal has stayed true to their values as a family-owned business and have gone to great lengths to ensure their tools are made in the USA and that no corners are cut. Ideal Tools are used by electricians and other tradesmen thus ensuring that quality tools finish the job.
