Features
3M constructs the 3M Stikit Film Disc 360L by anchoring aluminum oxide mineral to a film backing with a resin bond. This durable, long-lasting product works well for fine sanding on plastics, gel coats and polyurethane solid surface substrates.
Film Backing for Enhanced Durability
3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc 360L features a sturdy film backing that provides the durability needed for a high-production environment and offers excellent resistance to edge tearing to increase the life of the abrasive. At the same time, the film backing provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects or sanding automotive primer.
Fighting Dust and Debris with Load-Resistant Coating
To help reduce loading, 3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc 360L features an open coat construction. Overall, abrasives tend to cut better and last longer when dust isn’t loading the cutting surface of the mineral. The open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat mineral of the same grade, and the load-resistant coating reduces clogging. Here’s how it works: open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate sanding debris, which prevents clogging the cutting edge of the grains.
The Benefits of Aluminum Oxide Mineral
3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing. We chose aluminum oxide mineral, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Stikit™ System for Easy Tool Attachment
These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so that attaching them to your disc or hand pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker; and because the adhesive is pressure sensitive, the abrasive can be peeled off of the pad just as easily, leaving a clean surface for your next abrasive. A Stikit™ abrasive must be pressed onto a Stikit™ backup pad (sold separately) that attaches to the power tool. Altogether, 3M™ Stikit™ Film Disc 360L is a great product for workshops that require an easy-to-use and multi-purpose abrasive, designed to fight dust while offering a superb finish.
